North London Ulysses

It is based as expected in north London around East Finchley/Muswell Hill and meets in a local pub. On 27th September 2023 we will start our third full reading. After some years meeting at The Clissold Arms, we are trying out a new venue and our meeting on 27th September will be in Maddens Bar East Finchley.

Meetings will then be weekly on Wednesdays at 8.00pm.

There is nothing scary about Ulysses! Russell has guided two groups so far through the book and before that, the lecture series. If you are curious, enjoy literature then give it a go. There is currently no charge for the readings but do support the venue by buying a drink.

For the first time, NLU will also be reading Finnegans Wake. This is more suitable for readers already familiar with Ulysses and other Joyce works. Contact Russell if interested.
